What is a CI (common interface) slot in the Oyster Satellite receiver?
The CI (common interface)slot has been developed to enable you to take advantage of hundreds of subscription channels through your system. How often have you turned you oyster satellite over to a satellite and noticed lots of encrypted channels?
The CI slot enables you to watch the subscriptions channels through the use of a CAM MODULE and a SATELLITE TV CARD. Just like in a Sky box, you can obtain cards for all of the extra channels that are encrypted. This means that if you want the German film channel or the latest football from the Italian channel you just need to purchase a subscription and tune in.
Did you know that you can tune to hotbird and receive Sky Italia Sports? Which will give you Sky sports 1, 2 and 3 as well as loads of other channels. In addition to the Sky Sports packages the Oyster Satellite CI digital receiver is able to receive English, French, German, Italian and Spanish channels.
